Kirsten Thorne came to Black Mountain Dance Centre from South Africa. She has performed roles in numerous productions in her seven years with San Diego Ballet, as well as guest performance roles in Los Angeles and Orange County ballets. Her roles in Southern California Ballet include Le Corsaire, Cinderella, Bluebird and The Nutcracker. Ms. Thorne holds a Cecchetti Advanced II certificate and a Cecchetti Associate Teaching Qualification. She has taught at Black Mountain Dance Centre for the past seven years, and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in April, 2010. She now works as a physical therapist specializing in the treatment of dancers.
