Sarah Chou is an eighth grade Honor Roll student at Mesa Verde Middle School. Sarah has been a regional and national champion in competitive dance and joined BMDC this year to train in the classical style. She is preparing for her Cecchetti Intermediate Major Cecchetti professional exam. Ms. Chou’s recent roles include Party Girl and Arabian corps in The Nutcracker. This summer she will be attending the Boston Ballet Summer Dance Intensive.
Hannah Estrada is a sophomore at Rancho Bernardo High school. Currently she is preparing for the Advanced I Cecchetti professional exam. She has studied at BMDC for six years. Her recent roles include Trepak lead, Soldier Doll and Flowers corps in The Nutcracker and March Hare in Alice in Wonderland. During past summers, Ms. Estrada has attended the Cecchetti USA International Summer School in Santa Barbara and BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio. This summer Ms. Estrada will study at the Joffrey Ballet School’s Jazz and Contemporary Summer Intensive in New York. She hopes to join them as a trainee in the future.
Liana Miller is a sophomore at Westview High School. She is preparing for the Advanced I Cecchetti professional exam and has studied at BMDC for 12 years. Her recent roles include Clara, Fritz and Trepak lead in The Nutcracker and Dormouse in Alice in Wonderland. Ms. Miller is a member of CSF and is working on earning her Girl Scout Gold award. Ms. Miller leads workshops for younger Girl Scouts to help them earn their “Art of Ballet” patch. During past summers, Ms. Miller has attended CSSSA and the Cecchetti USA International Summer School in Santa Barbara. Last summer, Ms. Miller toured China and danced with the Long Beach Ballet’s “Ambassadors to China” program. This summer, Ms. Miller will attend BalletMet’s summer intensive program in Columbus, Ohio.
Danielle Plopper is in eighth grade at Heritage Digital Academy. She is preparing for her Advanced I Cecchetti professional exam and has studied at BMDC for four years. Prior to joining BMDC, Ms. Plopper trained with the Orlando Ballet under Peter Stark. Ms. Plopper’s recent roles include Fritz, Chinese corps, Flowers corps and BonBon soloist in The Nutcracker, and Peter Rabbit in The Adventures of Beatrix Potter. Last summer, Ms. Plopper studied at the Next Generation Ballet’s summer intensive program in Tampa, Florida. This summer she will train at the Princeton Ballet School’s summer intensive program in Princeton, New Jersey.
Shannon Teeter is a sophomore at Del Norte High School and is preparing to take her Advanced I Cecchetti professional exam. She has been dancing for 12 years. Her recent roles include Snowflake corps, Flowers corps and Doll in The Nutcracker, the Garland corps in Aurora’s Wedding and Lucinda and Jeremy Fisher in The Adventures of Beatrix Potter. Ms. Teeter is the Assistant Teacher for the five and six year old pre-primary and the 12-13 year old ballet classes at BMDC. During past summers, Ms. Teeter has attended CSSSA in Valencia and BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio. This summer she will attend the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Summer Program in San Francisco.
Britta Wichary is a freshman at Francis Parker School. She is preparing for the Advanced I Cecchetti professional exam and has been dancing for 11 years. Her past roles include Flowers corps, Snowflake corps and Arabian corps in The Nutcracker, the Garland corps in Aurora’s Wedding and the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland. Ms. Wichary is a Teacher’s Assistant for the 7-8 year old ballet class at BMDC. During past summers, Ms. Wichary has attended two sessions of the Cecchetti USA International Summer School as well as BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio. This summer Ms. Wichary will be studying Photography at Francis Parker School and will train at BMDC’s summer intensive program.
Joanne Yue is a sophomore at Mt. Carmel High School. She is preparing for the Advanced I Cecchetti professional exam and has been dancing for 10 years. Her past roles include Mopsy in The Adventures of Beatrix Potter, Pantomime in Alice in Wonderland, and Party Girl and Arabian corps in The Nutcracker. Last summer Ms. Yue attended the BalletMet Summer Intensive in Columbus, Ohio. This summer she plans to attend the summer intensive at BMDC.
